Charles Rosier

Charles Rosier is a real jack-of-all-trades: While being successful in the banking world he is also interested in science, keen on social entrepreneurship and eco-responsible solutions and, more widely, in culture in all its forms and genres.

After following the intensive two-year program preparing for the competitive entrance examination to the French "Grandes Ecoles", Charles entered the prestigious French business school, ESCP Europe, where he graduated in 1996. He then kicked off his career in the same year by working as an investment banker for Lehman’s Brothers in Paris. He later on settled down in London in order to join SBC Warburg, where he achieved solid results as a manager among the Debt Capital Market Division in charge of three international markets: France, Quebec and Belgium. He carried on in the same organisation and became Head of derivatives and structured products sales for French-speaking markets and for Spain, Portugal and Andorra.

After joining Goldman & Sachs as Managing Director in 2009 he finally joined BTG Pactual Bank in 2010 as a partner in charge of developing the Brazilian bank’s business and partnerships all over the world with a focus on Middle East, Asia, Europe and South America.

Aside from his professional success Charles Rosier is very much involved in humanitarian causes and science. It is in part through Charles’ generous sponsorship that the company Mapreg is able to research cure for depression, cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) and tetraplegia. Several of the projects that are carried out by this company are already showing great progresses and real promising results.

Charles’s interest for science has also been paired with his genuine concern for the environment through the MPOWERD project in which he has been a first-day investor and a fierce believer. Through this project, photovoltaic torches alongside portable solar lantern are now designed and produced in a view to fight energy access discrepancies all over the world while keeping a strong focus on eco-responsibility. Through his sponsorship of the French company Innoveox, Charles Rosier also got involved in organic waste treatment processes that enable the production of energy and clean water without any CO2 emission.

As well as following these projects, Charles also was a board-member of the non-governmental organisation, Nature Rights, whose target is to raise awareness on various environmental issues.

Charles Rosier has also developed a keen eye for the arts and culture. He is an avid learner who speaks four languages (French, English, Spanish and Portuguese) and is very much interested in music and cinema. These interests prompted him to take part into the pre-production process of the award-winning picture staring Charlotte Gainsbourg “Nuovomondo” (2006 Silver Lion: Revelation at the Venice Film Festival). On the music scene Charles supported the young French singer, Lola, to release her first album through the record label ‘My Major Company’.

Charlesunique profile and eclectic tastes allow him to take-on new challenges and to undertake all of them with solid experience, great passion and unwavering optimism.
